For some time I've had replacement headlights for my 1992 Ford F250 waiting to be installed. These are DOT-listed and apparently OE-spec, and they are identical in most respects save that one of the adjusters is a 6mm hex stud where it was originally a philips screw. The original headlights were both badly clouded, and one had broken glass inside of it. This may be the prelude to a HID upgrade, but first I'll have to see what the lights look like with the new, unclouded plastic lenses.

The wacky axle I've got on my F250 is apparently a super duty axle. If I install one ton springs and a class V hitch then I have all the equipment (but not the legal weight rating) of an F350, and then some. My rear springs need replacing anyway, and the ideal would be to find super duty springs, but I assume they're in short supply. The alternative seems to be to get rear lift springs, which is a somewhat spendy proposition; indeed, they are almost as expensive as the rest of the lift put together!

The temporary placement of the CDR on my custom F250 intake was apparently a little too temporary and I lost it on the way home the other day. So I hustled out and picked up another one from a GM 6.5 liter diesel in a van at Last Mile in Upper Lake.

Here are some pictures of a custom intake I built for My 1992 F250 diesel with ATS turbo kit. The intake was originally adapted from a MY1997+ Subaru Impreza intake to fit my former 1993 Impreza LS. I did that work with a hack saw and the addition of a mass air flow (MAF) sensor adapter; For this job I brought out the miter saw with grinding cut-off wheel, which goes through cheap aluminum like what this pipe's made of as if it were nothing, and which makes much better cuts.

Yesterday I reinstalled my drive shaft. The carrier shaft center bearing had failed, and sidelined the Ford until I got it replaced. This is a non-trivial job that often requires the loving touch of a driveline shop; on some vehicles the bearing can be trivially replaced, but on most (including this one) it must be pressed on and off.
