Recently, I had a Transcend MiniSD card go bad, so after jumping through some hoops I managed to process a RMA (and I'm waiting for it to come back.) Well, my PNY 1GB SD died as well (you can see I only buy the best) so I went to their website to process the RMA - at which point I found out that they require that you have the original proof of purchase to process the RMA.
What the hell? If it has a lifetime warranty (hint: it does) then there is no reason whatsoever to demand a proof-of-purchase, which is useful only for a date.
From now on, I will never purchase another PNY product again, and I urge everyone else to do the same. There is no reason to impose additional, unreasonable restrictions on your customers. The receipt is several times larger than the flash card, and there was simply no way I was going to be saving that.
Congratulations on your loss of a customer, PNY.
