Games intended to suit the average player.

Thirty-One

Game Type:
Boot Factor:

A game of math and drinking. You'll need a deck of cards, people, and beer. The game follows the same premise as BlackJack, but with some important variations.

The object of the game is to get as close to 31 points in your hand without going over. Aces are 11, all face cards are 10 points, and all other cards are face value.

Taps

Game Type:
Boot Factor:

An overly simple game with minimal verbal communication. Standard supplies: people, beer, and a coin for each player.

A player taps his coin on the table once to begin play to the right. The person to his right then taps his coin once to maintain that direction twice to reverse directions. When a person screws up (tapping out of turn or not tapping soon enough) he drinks.

High or Low

Game Type:
Boot Factor:

This is another very easy game with a pretty decent buzz factor.
Materials needed: people, beer, cards.

Player one is dealt a card. S/he then guesses whether the next card will be higher or lower than the next card. If wrong, s/he drinks once (because one card was showing). If correct, s/he guesses again.

Subject: Drinking Game

This is a really simple game that I've played. All you need is a pair of dice. Everyone rolls and the lowest person drinks the difference between the highest and the lowest rolls. If you tie, double the difference to the loser next round. It's very quick drinking and easy to do.

Sink the Battleship

Game Type:
Boot Factor:

A game of skill, a game of challenge, a game of intrigue? Low-Mid buzz factor. Supplies: people, beer, pitcher, and glasses.

Each player will need a glass of beer. Float an extra glass in the pitcher of beer (adding some beer to the glass may be needed for stability). Each player takes turns pouring beer into the floating glass. After a five second wait, the next player then pours into glass.

This the game of shoulders that I learned at UNH (U of New Hampshire).

Recommended: 5 to 10 players and plenty of beer.

All players sit in a circle around the room with beer in hand. Object of the game is to go around the group from 1 to 20 without messing up. If 20 is reached, someone must finish all or most of their beer. When saying a number you must tap your shoulder to the right or the left designating who goes next.

Sex-Drugs-Rock&Roll

Game Type:
Boot Factor:

All players gather in a group. The object is to go through the alphabet using every letter and each player must say a word that is related to either sex, drugs, or rock-n-roll.

Whoever starts the letter must also end the letter (the leader for each round must say two words with that letter).
