We play this game all the time at parties. Some people call if Ring of Fire, some call it Circle of Death. I like it. It's a little like Take That, but we use different rules.

Rimmers

Game Type:
Boot Factor:

This drinking game involves bouncing a coin (typically a 10cent piece), off of the surface of a table (a linoleum one is very suitable as it is really bouncy). The participants form a circle around the selected table with a full glass of their favorite brew (naturally alcoholic).

The aim is simple, to land the coin inside the glass cleanly, without contacting the glass at all by bouncing it of off the table (generally the edge of the coin is best, however, it is entirely the choice of the bouncer.) If the bouncer manages the feat then he/she may select someone who then must skull. (What fun!!). If the coin hits the rim in any form what so ever then it is a RIMMER (bummer for the bouncer), the bouncer must skull.

Red and Black

Game Type:
Boot Factor:

Simply a simple game with a pretty high buzz factor.
Simple supplies: people, beer, deck o' cards.

One player goes first. Using mental telepathy, s/he tries to predict the color of the card about to be turned over. If correct, s/he continues; if incorrect - drink.

Quarters

Game Type:
Boot Factor:

A mindless game that actually requires a certain amount of coordination. Supplies: people and beer (as usual), a quarter (hence the name), and a shallow juice-type glass. Or, for a real challenge, and a longer game, use a shot glass with a reasonably wide rim.

All players sit around a table, or similarly hard surface, and, in turn, try to bounce the quarter off the table into the juice glass. If successful, the player tells any other player to have a drink, as well as receiving another turn. If the player fails, play passes to the next in the circle.

Pyramids

Game Type:
Boot Factor:

A very excellent card game. Get some people together, grab two decks of cards, some beer, and get ready to play.

This game is similar to "Up and Down the River." Each player is dealt four cards which they can look at, but shouldn't let others see.

Peuchre

Game Type:
Boot Factor:

A drinking game adapted to the card game Euchre. If you don't know how to play Euchre, don't ask. It has to be seen to be understood, and not many people get it after that. So, this game is for those who know how to play the game.

One Up/One Down

Game Type:
Boot Factor:

From bhageman@digidesign.com Thu Dec 28 17:33:35 1995

The game is played by getting as many people as possible who have never heard of the game, and setting them all in chairs in a circle. The leader starts by saying one of the following: "one up, one down" or "two up" or "two down". This is decided by the hand position of the person who is speaking. "Down" is considered below the belt (ie: hand on knee). "Up" is considered above the belt (ie: hand on chin).
